The person behind the page
Nurse. Entrepreneur. Student. Dog mom. Still figuring some of it out — out loud.
For nearly 20 years I've worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse — long-term care, travel nursing, the kind of work that teaches you fast how strong people really are, especially in their hardest moments. That's where a lot of MamaCarrie comes from.
Outside of nursing, I run Med Optimal Solutions, a medical courier and delivery business I started from scratch, and I'm working on a Digital Arts and Design degree — which is also how this website and everything else I make gets built.
MamaCarrie is where I talk about the parts of growing up that don't get talked about enough: generational patterns, the inner kid still waiting for something, and what it actually takes to become the person you needed when you were younger. I lean on a lot of Stoic thinking here — not as theory, but as something practical you can use on a bad day.
When I'm not working or filming, I'm usually with my two dogs, Bo and Major — my two most loyal (and least judgmental) editors.
Grounded in
On the past
Understanding where a pattern came from isn't an excuse to stay stuck in it. It's the first honest step out.
On control
You can't control what happened to you. You can control what you do with what you know now.
On healing
Healing isn't linear, and it isn't private in the way we're taught it should be. Talking about it out loud helps someone else feel less alone.
